Hot-pressed steel shaped profiles

They are made by hot pressing (hot extrusion). It is possible to produce exclusive profile configurations that are not available for production by other methods (hot, cold rolling, etc.)

The cross-section shape is a closed contour formed by a chain of straight or curved segments.

Depending on the configuration and dimensions of the cross-section elements, shaped profiles are divided into 6 groups of complexity, which are determined by the following characteristics of the profile section:

  • the ratio of the area of the described circle to the area of the profile

  • indicator of the branched and profile contour

  • asymmetry of the profile contour

  • depth of the cavity, height of the protrusion

  • width of the profile element

  • radius rounding (external, internal)

Technical requirements


Twisting of the rods around the longitudinal axis should not exceed 2 ° per 1 m length. The local curvature should be at least 2 mm per 1 m of length. The total curvature should not be more than the product of the permissible local curvature of one meter per bar length in meters. The convexity or concavity in the cross section should not exceed 1% of the total width of the profile.

Captivity, flaw, scaliness, scratches, risks and ripples, crusts are not allowed on the surface of hot-pressed profiles. Minor listed defects are allowed if the depth of their occurrence on the surface of the finished product does not exceed the minus tolerance value, counting from the actual size.

Profiles are supplied without heat treatment. By agreement of the parties, it is possible to supply heat-treated profiles. Other technical requirements not specified in this technical condition can be agreed upon according to special documentation when developing a drawing for a profile.
