The new production line is designed to provide customers with sought-after, high-quality domestic products in place of their imported counterparts. The ropes to be made here will find their use in the construction, mining industry, etc. "Our Volgograd plant is at the forefront of practically all the innovations in the rope manufacturing across Russia and neighboring countries. The production line for special-purpose wire ropes is a unique project geared to the needs of clients for quality ropes in various industries. This venture will primarily serve as an instrument of import substitution for our customers; therefore, it is critical that the project is implemented in a timely manner," remarked Alexander Romanovich, the Director of Severstal Wire Ropes. The construction project is run under an investment agreement signed with the administration of Volgograd Region. Launching the new production will not only strengthen the company's position as a leading domes-tic rope manufacturer but also contribute to the industrial growth of the region, creation of jobs, and in-crease in regional tax revenues. So far, the foundation and framework of the building of 3,000 sq. meters have been installed completely, and the installation of the main equipment and the landscaping of the surrounding outdoor areas have started. The units of the future line are custom-built and adapted fully for the Volgograd site. The modern production will comply to the highest international quality standards and deliver products that are in high demand globally. The first batches of special-purpose wire ropes are set to be released as early as in 2026.
