CEO of Severstal-metiz
Sergey Kovryakov was born in 1974 in Vologda region.
In 1996 he graduated with a degree in agricultural engineering from the Vologda State Dairy Academy. From 2001 to 2003 Mr. Kovryakov studied management in the St.-Petersburg State Polytechnic University, from 2004 to 2006 he studied at the Severstal Corporate University (“Top-100” education program), having completed his corporate educational program “Achieve more together” (established by Severstal) in 2017.
Mr. Kovryakov started his career as a service technician at the Tool Shop of the Cherepovets Steel Rolling Mill in 1996. In 1997 he became a mechanic in the Nail Production Workshop, in 1999 he was appointed a chief economist of the Strategy Planning Department, and then he was promoted to the position of Deputy Chief of the Nail Production Workshop. In 2000 he took position of Head of the Metalware Production Department, in 2001 he returned to the position of Deputy Chief, and in 2002 Mr. Kovryakov was promoted to Head of the Nail Production Workshop. In 2004 Mr. Kovryakov became Head of the Wire Drawing Workshop No.1, in 2005 he took charge of the Technical Support Department.
On February 11, 2014 Mr. Kovryakov was appointed to the position of Chief Operating Officer of Severstal-metiz.
On October 18, 2016 he was shifted to the position of CEO of SVEZA group (subsidiary of Severgroup).
On December 12, 2016 Mr. Kovryakov became CEO of Severstal-metiz.
